good day 🙋🏾‍♀️ so i took to substack t good day 🙋🏾‍♀️ so i took to substack to share key takeaways from Emerging Media Diversity Conference.
for the full read, link is in my bio. ✨

of course, it's important to be in the room, but it's what you do with said information that is the real indicator of how you value the gems bestowed.💎

subscribe to my newsletter "The Makings Of" where I break down insights on my journey of being a creative business owner and multi-faceted artist. happy sunday 💜✨
we always speak affirmations along our journey. mo we always speak affirmations along our journey. most times they're rooted in building her confidence, creativity, and self awareness.

but this morning i needed her to know mommy is happy x healthy... bc motherhood is the trenches and i don't keep that a secret 🤣

but im motivated to keep up these moments because i often catch her repeating affirmations aloud during her playtime.
and i love to see it!!! ✨💜

have you incorporated positive self talk into your day?

so i'm in the space of defining my own family trad so i'm in the space of defining my own family traditions, alongside events that are a big deal in society but of zero significance to me. i didn't grow up celebrating Halloween, but my Nana did. and the only way i'd get a costume or go trick or treating is if i was at Nana's house. that was something my mom chose to be lenient about because she trusted my Nana would keep us safe.

that being said, my child will not participate at all, with anyone, ever. i haven't that amount of trust in a single soul.

as a mom, i believe in providing unbiased information about holidays to my offspring.. she's still young, and i'm very comfortable discussing the origins of rituals and symbols. so when i'm asked "why don't you celebrate XYZ holiday" my answer is simple. "that's not what we do."

PS. this farm experience left a lot to be desired. i checked before i pulled up, the reviews were great!! but i'm not people. 🙃
funny story: Mr Washington used to mentor my big s funny story: Mr Washington used to mentor my big sister. ✨ my how time flies!!
i'm still pinching myself about becoming a Cashman x PABJ Fellow this past summer ✨💜.

last night, at the Emerging Media Diversity Awards Reception, I had the opportunity to witness journalists and creative professionals being honored for their impact on media.

of course i'm inspired, and deeply considering what it means to build a legacy that contributes to the culture in a multitude of meaningful ways. congratulations to all the honorees!

i'm ready for day 2 💜✨
not every rhythm needs to be found, sometimes it j not every rhythm needs to be found, sometimes it just needs a reset. 😉

for me, that balance looks different every day: one moment i'm in a news studio, the next i'm in content producer & admin mode, then i'm putting in work at my creation station, or cooking with my tiny great one.

💜 this is episode 1 of My Creative Rhythm Reset. it's imperfect, it's refreshing, and always fueling my purpose. it took a while to get here but it feels great!

The Good Stuff Social Club was such a vibe! 💜✨

Being in a room full of powerhouse creatives, visionaries, and leaders left me feeling inspired and focused on the next level of my own journey.

I'm sharing more of my takeaways over on The Makings Of - my new Substack where I break down the behind-the-scenes of my creative journey, lessons, and projects.
